Welkom op onze website over polycysteuze leverziekte. Een polycysteuze lever komt voor bij “Autosomaal dominant polycysteuze leverziekte (PCLD)” en “Autosomaal dominant polycysteuze nierziekte (ADPKD)”.

PCLD en ADPKD zijn relatief recent ontdekte genetische ziektes, gekarakteriseerd door de aanwezigheid van meerdere cysten verspreid in de lever.

Deze website introduceert u in de verschillende klinische- en onderzoeksaspecten van deze aandoeningen en in het PCLD-onderzoeksteam in Nijmegen.

Welcome to our website focused on basic and clinical research of  “Autosomal dominant polycystic liver disease (PCLD)” and “Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD)”. (MIM 174050)

PCLD and ADPKD are relatively recent recognized genetic disorders, characterized by the appearance of numerous cysts spread throughout the liver.

This website introduces you to various clinical and research aspects of polycystic livers and to the scientists who perform research into PCLD in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Our Laboratory of Gastroenterology and Hepatology performs research in various areas of gastrointestinal diseases in general and PCLD in particular. We use a combined clinical approach with basic molecular biological and genetic techniques.
